Dr Chien-Ying Kao consults at Caufield South. He visits residential care facilities in Melbourne’s East. He completed his medical degree at the University of Melbourne in 2014 and works at Eastern Health as a Consultant Geriatrician. He believes in clear communication, fostering understanding among patients, their families and their general practitioners. He is known to be empathetic and a strong advocate for the health and welfare of his patients, promoting patient-centred care with collaborative decision-making.

• Chien is experienced in all facets of geriatric medicine, with a particular interest in assessing complex medical issues, cognitive assessment, managing delirium, dementia, and polypharmacy.

• Chien is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and a member of the Australian and New Zealand Society for Geriatric Medicine.
